01 Jan Esembly Try-It Kit
Esembly’s reusable diapers are responsibly manufactured using fabric made from 100% post consumer plastic bottles and GOTS certified organic cotton which is grown, harvested and spun using sustainable practices. The amount of water and energy used to produce our reusable diapers pales in comparison to the resources expended to produce the 12+ synthetic and petroleum-based ingredients that make up a single-use disposable diaper. Esembly products are manufactured around the world in socially and environmentally responsible factories: our GOTS certified organic cotton products (the diaper inners) are made in Pakistan; our diaper covers (outers) and storage bags are made of fabric using 100% post-consumer recycled plastic bottles in Qingdao; and our Recycle/Resell program ensures Esemby diapers never end up in a landfill. Esembly is a proud member of 1% for the Planet and also recently became Climate Neutral Certified. We also offset the carbon used to move Esembly goods from factory to warehouse, and offer our customers the option to purchase a carbon offset at checkout to cover the movement of their purchase from our warehouse to their home.
Furthermore, Esembly has demonstrated that sustainability doesn’t have to come at a premium. Diapers are a necessary commodity, and disposable diapers are expensive—costing families $75-$125 per month for 2-3 years (and that’s just for one child). In an uncertain economic environment, where many people have lost their jobs and are living on a tighter budget, Esembly saves parents over $2000 per baby. Esembly offers a five month, interest-free payment plan with payments less than what a family would otherwise spend on disposables so the savings is felt in both the short term AND long term. To further support parents, Esembly co-founder, CEO and mom Liz Turrigiano hosts free monthly virtual sustainable diapering workshops to provide parents with a go-to resource for any of their sustainable diapering and parenting needs. The option to parent ecologically is a privilege that not all families can afford, but we’ve made it a part of our mission with Esembly to ensure both accessibility and ethical practices.
