What are the Cribsie Awards?
The Cribsie Awards are the definitive awards for the parenting industry. Hosted by top parenting sites StrollerTraffic and A-List Mom, the annual Cribsie Awards create a secure forum for opinionated moms to elect their favorite brands and services from a curated list of best-of-the-best finalists, across six categories. Our mission is to recognize the best brands, products, services, and websites for babies, tots, and the parents who adore them.
How does it work?
For the general Cribsie Awards, you nominate, we select, and moms vote for their favorite products across six categories. The finalists for 60 awards (10 per category) will be selected by the Cribsie selection committee, with consideration given to popularity (number of nominations).
Who is allowed to nominate a brand or product?
A nomination can come from a parent, a fan, a public relations rep, sales reps, a designer, or a manufacturer.
How many times can I vote?
The Cribsies is a secure voting forum, allowing one vote per award per email address.
How does the "One Vote One Diaper" campaign work?
For each confirmed vote cast—up to 25,000 votes—The Honest Company will donate a diaper to Baby2Baby, a Los-Angeles based organized that provides families in need with essential baby gear.
What is the Cribsie schedule?
The Cribsie Awards are scheduled as follows: Nominations will take place November 18 to January 20, 2012 (11.59pm Eastern Time). Finalists will be announced February 1, 2012. Public voting will be conducted from February 21 to March 16, 2012 (11:59pm Eastern Time). All winners will be announced April 2, 2012.
What is the difference between the Cribsie Awards and the Cribsie New Arrival Award?
The general Cribsie Award finalists are chosen by the Cribsie Editors, in collaboration with a selection committee, and then voted on by the public. The New Arrival Award is a pay-to-submit award honoring the best NEW products of 2011, and voted on by the esteemed Cribsie Academy.
The general Cribsie Awards will feature approximately 350 finalists across six categories to be voted on by the public. There will be 60 winners chosen by the public.
The New Arrival Award will honor 18 winners, three in each of the six categories. The Cribsie Academy will select one overall winner, as well as a 2nd place (Silver) and 3rd place (Bronze) winner for each category.
Can my company be nominated for both awards?
Yes, a brand can be nominated for both awards. We encourage established brands to nominate themselves in the public Cribsie Awards. Entries must have been in the general market for at least part of 2011 and fit into category specifications. New companies and products that came to market in 2011 are encouraged to register for the New Arrival Award.
Who is eligible for the New Arrival Award?
Any product designed and brought to market in the US in 2011 qualifies for entry. Products must fit one of the following categories:
FASHION: Clothing and Accessories
PLAY: Toys, Entertainment, Music
MEALTIME: Feeding accessories and products
GEAR: Baby, mom and toddler gear
NURSERY: Skincare, décor, furniture, accessories, bedding
WEB: New websites, apps, blogs, and microsites
Is there a fee to nominate or enter the Cribsie Awards?
There is no fee to nominate a product for the general Cribsie Awards. There is a $300 fee to submit a product to the Cribsie New Arrival Award, and to be judged by the Cribsie Academy.
What is the Cribsie Academy?
The Cribsie Academy comprises 12 top-in-their-field industry professionals—TV producers, editors, retailers, and celebrities—who bring a special expertise and perspective to choosing the winners. We are honored to include each member's opinions in what is shaping up to be a historic and coveted award program within the baby industry.
What do winners get?
Cribsie Finalists and Winners have an unparalleled opportunity to promote their respective entries. There is tremendous recognition, prestige and public relations opportunity associated with being selected by the Cribsie Awards and the Academy.
All finalists, runners up, and winners for both awards will be featured prominently on the Cribsie Awards site, promoted through the email and social media channels of the host companies, and will be given complimentary use of the prestigious Cribsie badges on their sites, marketing materials and packaging.
